Re: Wobbly on back legs

I know it’s been a long time since I posted on here about Dempsey. He recovered from his nose tumour two years ago. But he still had constipation issues which after recent tests the vet thinks is now Megacolon. Last night he went wobbly again so back in vets today. She took his blood pressure which ...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

Hi Catstmq So sorry to hear about Zara. I really hope some of the meds I'm giving Dempsey can help her. I think the LifeGold liquid and PetAlive C-Caps have made a significant difference but it's hard to know which ones are really working so I just stick with all of them! I agree with you, I didn't ...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

Hi, Hope all your little fur babies are doing well. Just thought I'd update you on Dempsey as I've not posted on here much since he was diagnosed with the nasal tumour last October. I'm pleased to say he's doing really well at the moment. All the sneezing and runny nose has stopped, just the odd snu...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

Waffle away! :D I'd so pleased your new vet is supportive - having a good relationship with your vet is priceless. xx Yep totally agree. I struggle to sleep at night at the moment though, worrying about him! I was up at four this morning sitting in the kitchen with him! Just love him so much! Took ...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

I'm glad you've managed to find a way, well done, and fusses to your boy. :) Thanks, yep he seems ok at mo, he's been enjoying some sunshine with me in the garden today. Even though he's an indoor cat he comes out in the garden with me but never wanders off. At the moment I spend my life googling c...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

Result! Pleased to hear it's working. How's he doing today? My vet had never heard of using Webbox either, surprisingly. She said she was in awe of people who can keep pilling their cats, and I said "Lily has no idea she's on pills", and told her about our Webbox trick, so hopefully there...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

What is he on? Pills and/or fluids? When Lily was on metacam i just used to squirt it into the top of her food and mix it in a little with the gravy, which disguised the taste. Pills I used to hide in Webbox (which luckily she liked) - cut off a piece about 1.5-2 cm long, cut a little slot in the m...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

I'm not personally a follower of 'alternative' medicine, but I do support anyone who does and wants to try to help their pet. I would strongly suggest that you run the risk of a lecture/dismissal and tell the vet, though. If there is something there that might help, then it might also be strong eno...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

As long as it doesn't react with the Metacam and he will take it, I can't see any harm in the turmeric. I don't know if vets go by the Hypocratic Oath, same as doctors, but I believe Hypocrates said let food be thy medicine and medicine thy food. Big Pharma doesn't like stuff like turmeric because ...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

I tried adding curcumin to my Trigger's food when he had cancer, but the smell, and probably the taste, was too much for him he did really well on daily Metacam though, for his last two months, and it had the additional benefit of improving immensely the gut irritation he had had for years, probabl...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

I'm sorry to hear the news is not better, but I'm pleased to hear he is still bright in himself. Long may that last. I wish I'd known sooner about the cancer that took my Mo, and then Mitz 8 years later. In Mo's case, although we'd been treating him and monitoring him for general loss of condition ...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

The vet rang today re Dempseys test results. Whilst they got plenty of cells to test they all showed up as good cells however he still thinks this is cancer but it has not spread. He said to give him Metacam daily but at mo he doesn't seem very congested, just a runny nose so I'm going to leave it u...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

I don't think any thoughts are silly when you care profoundly, and it is good to think them through, but almost all cancers, especially the tumorous kind, are years in the making, which is why we (humans) invest so much in attempts at very early detection with invasive screenings, long before sympt...

Sad news re Dempsey I'm afraid, you might see my other new post on here re request for info on nasal cancer in cats. He was diagnosed today after having an X-ray. Nasal tumour

Hi, My twelve year old cat has just been diagnosed with nasal cancer today. He's had what we thought were ongoing URI's since we moved into our new house about six months ago. We initially thought it was allergies caused by new carpets etc Has anyone else had experience of nasal cancer in a cat? In ...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

Thanks cussypat1974 I'm so sorry to hear you lost your cat to this. I've read a lot about it on the net and my vet also talked about this. I'm hoping as he has fully recovered it was just caused by constipation but I agree I need to bear the saddle thrombus in mind. My vet said normally with this co...

Re: Wobbly on back legs

Thanks for your thoughts on this. I think you could be right. Hopefully in a few days if we can get the constipation problem solved we will be able to see if the wobbliness improves.
