I can't stop my cat going next door, he is used to thinking this is his territory but now we have a new cat.
Every day mine is yowling and really aggressive towards this cat I am afraid one or both of them will be hurt soon, what can I do to stop him?

Re: Catawalling being noisy at silly o'clock
He's not particularly lost any weight, his routine has changed in the last 6 months with my partner doing the early feed before he goes to work at about 5.30 and I just put it down to the routine change of needing his food now!! No other signs mentioned like the hyperactivity etc He is insured (with...

Catawalling being noisy at silly o'clock
I love my cat dearly but he's driving us all crazy. He's 10 years old and has started to miow like a low caterwaul from sometimes as early as 4am I get up and feed him then he settles, I have tried feeding an additional pouch before I go to bed but he still wakes us up. It could be my partner feeds ...

Help my cat relax and not miss me whilst on holiday
I hate leaving my cat. I went away for 4 days and he was sick 2 of these, eating OK but possibly due to a furball that emerged later. We are away for a week very soon, he'll stay at home cared for by my 22yo daughter though he'll be alone in the house during the day. He's very nervous and stressy, h...

Re: What would you do?
When I say £60 per hour, that's what it equated to, she actually charges £12 for 2 visits. I also had another incident, which sounds like your situation maybe, I paid for the gutters to be cleaned, little did they know they were on CCTV and spent 10 minutes with a bucket just removing a weed that ha...

Re: What would you do?
I already did, cash up front. It's not the money that bothers me (though £60 per hour is a fair crack) it's the principle.

Re: What would you do?
The CCTV is only on the outside of the property, and she wasn't under observation, I was just checking on the foxes (I like to see them collect scraps I sometimes put out) and it occurred to me to check the times she came, in a way I'm glad I couldn't see him pacing or stressing out. I know it was o...

What would you do?
I have got back from a holiday, having employed a cat sitter for 2 visits per day. I hasten to add I have used her twice before. I felt bad enough as my cat is an indoor cat and very nervous, so I was dreading leaving him. Imagine how I felt when I check my cctv to see he has only had one visit per ...

Stopping re-directed agression
Each night if my cat sees another cat/fox in the garden he will spin off the window sill and attack the feet or actually front up to whoever is nearest him which is pretty scary as he's a big cat. It's usually my husband whom he attacks and he is getting near to the end of his tether with him. The o...

Pulling stairs instead of cat scratcher
My cat has decided he won't use his (2) scratching posts, instead he prefers to pull on each and every stair riser, thus making my 18 month old cream carpet looking like a woolly mess. My husband hates the cat so any excuse to have a rant about him adds fuel to the fire, anyone have any tips to stop...

Re: My cat needs to go on a diet :(
He doesn't like the cat milk I have never seen him lap any liquid from a bowl and I am concerned after 6 years he won't now. He will drink from the tap if he is really thirsty bu tI can't leave it running all day, he wouldn't use a water fountain either.

My cat needs to go on a diet :(
Harry had what I thought was asthma attack, he has been a bit wheezy for a while and snores. I found it really distressing him wheezing (not retching hairball) that I booked him straight in. The vet listened to his heart and respiration and said she thought it was slightly up but couldn't hear anyth...

Re: Going on holiday...
Hi Jilly The thing is, he is a really nervous cat and doesn't take kindly to strangers, he's not friendly and has been know to attack people and he doesn't like men, maybe something happened when he was a kitten I don't know, its a great idea though if you have social cats. I just worry about him be...

Going on holiday...
I always have mixed feelings, I want to go but feel bad as I know my cat will miss me so much and I worry as he doesn't eat well if I'm not around. I have a cat sitter coming in twice a day, I will have a light on a timer in the hall, should I have another light or a radio on in the front room for h...

New home needed for loving tortie cat -Sheffield
Hi My Mum has gone into a care home and sadly will not be coming home. She has a lovely tortie cat called biscuit, she is tiny, loving and friendly has been used to a quiet life and is very affectionate. She does go outdoors but is not used to traffic at all as she lives in a quiet area. She would s...

Re: Indoor Cat to outdoor cat - dilemma!
He is displaying classic behaviour of a frustrated young cat and the answer is yes or you are going to have a very unhappy cat with behavioural issues that will only escalate. Thankfully you seem to understand what the problem is and what the answer is. You don't have to open the doors and say 'off...

Indoor Cat to outdoor cat - dilemma!
I have an indoor cat, he's been indoors for 3 years now, and has never been outside. The reason is we live on a lane which is one way and whilst not that busy as it's uphill people tend to speed up rather than slow down. He was adopted from CP, I was originally a fosterer until he came along and bec...

Re: Why does my cat show this aggressive behaviour?
I believe this behaviour is called redirected aggression. He can't get at the cat who is in what he considers his territory, so he takes it out on the first thing he sees when he turns around, which is usually you or your bf. I guess you just have to thank heavens that he doesn't express his aggres...

Why does my cat show this aggressive behaviour?
My cat is 3 years old, male and indoor. He sits on the bay windowsill, if he sees something that annoys him (ie another cat) he will jump down and starts to puff himself up to twice his size all his hackles rise and he approaches us aggressively, he actually attacked my husbands feet once and he's j...
