Bengal cross maybe
I took Loki to the vet today for his annual vaccination. She thought he might be a Bengal cross but wasn't sure. So I wondered what people on here might think?

Re: Is my cat turning feral?
Since he came home yesterday, around 2pm, he's hardly gone out again except for 15 minutes around 10pm last night. Then he came in for an hour and went back out from around 11pm to 4am this morning. Since then he's stayed in again. I'm not sure where he goes when he's out but probably into the field...

Re: Is my cat turning feral?
He just came in quarter of an hour ago, had a meal, and is now asleep on top of the wardrobe in his usual preferred place. So I'll have to wait and see how long he stays at home this time. He really is a mad cat, LOL.

Is my cat turning feral?
Since Loki and I moved here a month ago his behavior has changed. Once he was accustomed to the new home he started going out. And he's staying out for a very long time. For example at 4 am Thursday morning he went out and came back for ¾ hour around 9pm then went out again. He was back Friday after...

Re: Moving home
Yes, Loki has always looked to me for reassurance. We have a very strong bond. And I've always made a loud noise if he goes near anything harmful. He does like me to be out with him, but not all the time. As with any cat he's a law unto himself and just ignores me whenever he likes. So I'm glad he b...

Re: Moving home
Hi Kay, and Ruth Many thanks for the Zooplus link. That tray looks very useful and I'll have to get him one. I didn't know they existed, so it will be a real boon. Yes, having osteoarthritis certainly isn't pleasant. And I can no longer even make a fist of my hand. Loki is settling, and goes out of ...

Re: Moving home
Thanks for the replies. Loki has always had access to his litter tray but, until we moved here, has never, ever, used it. He even likes to go out in the cold and wet and wind - he's always preferred cooler to warmer weather. Maybe he's still not feeling quite safe in the outside of our new home. The...

Re: Moving home
It's been 3 weeks since Loki and I moved and after a week he was so desperate to go out that I let him. He just had a small wander round the garden and came back in. He now knows where he lives and sometimes he goes out for a couple of hours and other times he's away for over 24 hours. But he always...

Re: Moving home
Yes, thanks, I know the old wife’s tale about buttering their paws and that it doesn’t work. But I didn’t know about waiting for him to be relaxed in the way you describe when he’s feeling contented. So I’ll be sure to wait until he’s comfortable indoors before taking him out. I have a cat harness t...

Moving home
I am about to move house and was wondering if I could ask for advice about how to settle my cat in. He'll be in a cattery for a couple of nights while the move takes place. Then, I'll use Feliway to completely cover my new home for his return. How long should I keep him in before letting him outside...

Re: Cat has bloodshot eye
Just an update to say Loki went to the vet yesterday and he has conjunctivitis. The vet said he's fine apart from that, and well looked after. He now has some eye drops so hopefully it will clear up very soon.

Cat has bloodshot eye
Loki seems to have a bad eye. It looks bloodshot and dark and he’s been rubbing it from time to time. It’s closed most of the time but he can open it when he wants to. I’ve been wiping it regularly with water and cottonwool pads. I’ve tried warm water but have to boil the kettle to make it distilled...

Re: Asda Tiger Pouches question
Thanks again. You're so right in all that you say and I agree. I won't overdo it trying to do what's right for Loki. As long as he's healthy and happy I'm fine with that. I really do enjoy having a cat again and I hope he lives well into his old age.

Re: Asda Tiger Pouches question
Thank you so much. I'll check to see if Asda have the analytical content. And, I'll keep the box (as long as they stay in date) as a stand-by in case I'm not able to get the normal ones. I'll also make very sure that in future I check the age on the box when Asda deliver! Loki loves these pouches an...

Asda Tiger Pouches question
Loki is now just over a year old and has changed to eating Asda Tiger Adult wet food pouches for cats 1 year plus. He was originally eating the kitten ones. He loves them, but only those in jelly. Being housebound I have everything delivered and try to keep a good stock in the cupboard. Today I just...

Re: Lost Loki now home
Hi alanc, Misty being missing for 9 weeks must have been unbearable. And I can understand your joy at getting him back. Loki certainly ate a lot on the day he returned, I told him he had hollow legs, LOL. But after that he was back to his normal eating routine. And he’s going out again as he used to...

Re: Lost Loki now home
alanc There is nothing quite so delightful as a prodigal cat returning home! I found it more than delightful – it was a gift from heaven. Ruth, you are so right about a missing cat being devastating. For me, too, it was the not knowing what had happened and if he was even still alive. I’m so glad th...

Lost Loki now home
Loki went through the cat flap early on Sunday morning and didn't return until 5:30 AM on Friday. I was going out of my mind with worry, and did all the things one does when searching for a missing cat. The most helpful was the local village notice board on Facebook. I was overjoyed when he came hom...

Re: Lost Ginger Tom in Cornwall
Thank goodness Loki came home at 5:30 this morning after 5 days away, and none the worse for wear. He was very hungry and wanting to be with me all the time, getting lots of love. Now he has settled down and is asleep.

Lost Ginger Tom in Cornwall (Found)
My ginger tom cat went out of the cat flap at 2:00 am Sunday morning, in the dark, and has not been home since. He's 11 months old, micro-chipped, neutered, vaccinated, and insured. His home is in Mullion, Cornwall and I'm out of my mind with worry about him.
His name is Loki.
His name is Loki.

Re: Help, frightened angry cat
Hi Mollycat, I think that’s lovely that Loki shares your Dad’s birthday and I’m sorry to hear you lost him 10 years ago. I’m afraid it’s far too cold to have the door open, especially as we often have very strong wind, and lots of rain – as we have today. The price of living near the coast, LOL. How...

Re: Help, frightened angry cat
Hi Ruth, Thanks for your reply. I, too, hope he’s learned from whatever it was he encountered. I won’t force him to go out if he doesn’t want to. If he needs it I just hope he’ll remember how to use his litter tray, which he hasn’t used for weeks and weeks now as he “goes” outside. Oh, poor Blue. Ho...

Re: Help, frightened angry cat
Thank you Mollycat for your reassuring reply. Yes, he’ll be one year old on 6 March. He has met other, bigger, cats before as we have at least a couple who all wander the same area. At the end of my very small garden there is a footpath and then allotments and all the cats seem to like using that pl...

Help, frightened angry cat
Loki seems to be frightened and angry. He’s constantly checking out each room and angrily moving his tail back and forth. It started a couple of days ago when he came in from being out for a while in the morning and kept dashing round the house, which he’s never done before, then sitting on the wind...

Re: Changing Cat Food
Hi Mollycat, Sorry not to have replied earlier but I’ve been busy. Checking out all the different brands, and being on a limited budget, I’ve decided to just stick with what Loki likes, but get the adult version for him. As for hairballs he’s never had one and he’s almost 11 months old. I’d like to ...

Re: New here and need advice
Hi booktigger, Thank goodness Loki only draws a little blood when he tries to bite my toes and hands under the duvet at night. Not that he goes under the duvet, just manages to get infiltrate the sides of it. I didn’t know Royal Canin did sensitivity pouches so I’ll have to look those up. As for Zoo...

Re: New here and need advice
Hi again Ruth, Thank you for the info about Felix as Good as it Looks. You can’t always see the labels when looking online, so that’s very useful. And as for the chicken and rice I’ve seen that recommended elsewhere for cats with upset tummies and poor appetites. I also know that vets can recommend ...

Re: New here and need advice
Hi Mollycat, I’m sorry to hear that your cat cost so much getting her treated. But I’m very glad to hear that she’s cured and OK now. As for what you write about fish, and histamine, I see what you mean. Perhaps I’ll get a few fish flavours for Loki but only give them to him occasionally. I’m not su...

Hi again Mollycat. Perhaps I shouldn't have named the site, so sorry if that was bad of me. But the reasons you state for no longer using PF are the same ones that I no longer do. So, it's really great to find another forum where people are much nicer. I shan't be visiting PF again, ever. I didn't k...

Changing Cat Food
I was wondering if anyone could let me know their thoughts on what type of kibble I might start feeding Loki in the future. He's a 10 month old kitten. And, at the moment he's on GoCat kitten kibble. But for the future I can't decide whether to give him "Purina One Coat and Hairball" kibbl...
