Hi everybody.
My neighbour was in hospital for some weeks and I took her cat coco in, she was getting distressed being in the house alone and only having a visitor pop in. I took her in but unfortunately her owner has sadly passed away, I took the cat as a temporary measure which I thought would be short term but I now have a cat and no where for her.
I can't keep a cat for multiple reasons so I am really stuck, I live in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and have rang all local cat charities etc but they are at full capacity, won't take a senior cat or have been unhelpful.
Coco needs a forever home, I live in a 1 bed top floor flat which is very unsafe and unsuitable for her, she previously lived in a house with a garden and is a indoor cat but enjoyed sitting at the back door.
I don't know what to do, I do not want to see a healthy cat put down.
Can anybody help???
Newcastle and surrounding areas.

Hello
Thank you for caring about the cat. Cat Chat’s rehoming advice page should help: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/rehome-pet-cat
You could also email Cat Chat’s Help Desk for further advice: cat.advice (at) catchat.org
You can find a complete list of cat rescues in your area here: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/cat-r ... humberland or https://www.catchat.org/index.php/cat-r ... -tyne-wear; as you say many of the rescues are full but it is worth asking if they have a waiting list or offer direct rehoming services.
I hope you are able to find a home for the cat soon.
