Loving, Healthy Ginger Tom, NICO, desperately seeking new home due to owner's ill health.

Post by christinamacdougall »

My Mum's dear NICO desperately needing loving new home. Mum in hospital and not going to be able to care for him when she gets out.
NICO is a very young and healthy 14-year-old neutered Ginger Tom who has never had any health problems. He is Microchipped, fully up to date with vaccinations, flea and worming treatments and comes with insurance until October. He has tonnes of food/treats/bowls/litter tray etc.etc.

He is a beautiful, affectionate soul. He spends his time between short outdoor explorations and long indoor sleeps. He especially loves his evening lap cuddles and is extremely chilled out. He is fully housetrained but uses his litter tray rarely as he likes to go out for the toilet. He is used to having a cat flap for this.

NICO loves dogs (as long as they like cats!). I would love to take NICO myself but we have a rescued lurcher that was not socialised to cats and barks constantly at him. NICO has never lived with another cat so cannot comment there except that he is a Tom so would be nervous about rehoming with other cats.

NICO is honestly one of the loveliest cats I have ever known and we are devastated that he has to be rehomed. We have explored every available option and at least 20 local charities but all are full.

We are in Fylde, Lancashire.

Please please get in touch if you or your charity can help or if you would like any further information. We are really desperate and my Mum is worried sick about his future.

THANK YOU!

Hi! Oh, he looks lovely!

I know you're after a permanent home for him but if you get stuck, I could offer a foster home for 6 months until you find something more permanent. I have a house in the countryside, cat flap, no other pets or kids.
I am quite a distance from you (Worcestershire) but my best friends live in Preston and I'm in your neck of the woods quite often so I could even pick him up.

I know it's not ideal but the offer is there if you need it.

NICO now rehomed to a very loving and purrfect home in Lancashire. Thanks to anyone who thought about helping. Fate was good to him in the end.

Ah great news, and thanks for updating - so many appeals are posted on the forum and we never hear about what happens next.

I've got a soft spot for gingers and fell in love with Nico when I saw him, but unfortunately it's not feasible for me to take on another cat at present - I'm so very glad to hear that he's landed on his paws and hope he and his owners have many happy years ahead of them - well done all concerned x
