Metrobactin

Post by Ileana Eliza Paunica »

The vet gave me Metrobactin tablets for my cat Morechka. I tried to give them to her orally. A tragedy. I traumatised her. I crushed them to powder in her food (favourite food). She refused to eat the food, with the powder in it. I tried, with dipping a finger in the food and then tasting on my tongue: it was bile bitter. I put a tablet on my tongue: bile bitter. Just wanted to let you know not to crush the tablet in the food: it is unpalatable.

Eliza, the property of Morechka, the cat. :D

Hi Eliza and welcome :)

You're absolutely right - I've never had to give a cat Metrobactin but if I get told to mix any meds in with food I taste them first too ... it's amazing what's considered 'palatable', especially by crafty cats!

Hope Morechka's feeling better soon, give her a love from me :)
