1000 FIV cats project

Post by Bob_H »

Calling all FIV cat owners - and rescues that have homed FIV cats

Can you find 20 minutes to spare over the next few weeks to tell us about your FIV cat?

The project is to document the lives of 1000 FIV cats

By showing what actually happens with lots and lots of FIV cats living normal lives in homes (including those in the past, if no longer alive), the project will provide a data resource which will be helpful to everyone concerned with caring for an FIV cat in the future.

With everyone's help we can provide meaningful reports of real-life FIV experience, and useful statistics which can benefit everyone in the future with the care of an FIV cat.

To read the full story of this project, and hopefully add your cat's story,
Owners please visit: http://www.fivcatsdata.com/fiv_owners.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Rescues please visit: http://www.fivcatsdata.com/fiv_rescues.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We have been warned that the response to a request like this will be minimal - that won't help!
Please prove that members of this forum are better than the norm, and will make the effort -
it will take a few minutes to find out more, and later about 20 minutes of your time, but it could be really important!

Will you find some time to help us help all FIV cats in the future?

I hope you will at least find a few minutes to read more about the project.
http://www.fivcatsdata.com/fiv_owners.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - for owners

http://www.fivcatsdata.com/fiv_rescues.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - for rescues

After all, what else has anyone got to do in the next couple of weeks?!

I live in hope (the state of mind, not the place).

Bob

Please spread the word / cross post about this project - and submit your own FIV cat's details - it could help save lives! Every person who realises that FIV positive cats can live normal lives, could mean another FIV cat adopted.

If you, or someone you know, owns or has owned, an FIV cat, you can contribute to this project, and help to change minds, and give more FIV cats a chance.

To submit a cat for inclusion in the project, use this link: http://www.v63.net/fivcatslives/mycatsinfo.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

To see those already on the project, have a look at the initial results page, here:

I have already done this and it was 20 mins well spent. It was such a shock to find that Bobby was FIV+ and I thought I was going to lose him. But thanks to CC and Bob I now know better!

Come on guys lets put the word out and help Bob reach his 1000 FIV cats total.

Will do it now. I have a few FIV cats and opened a sanctuary. I have no official tax status and am in Ireland, so will do the best I can with the survey. I will only reply about those cats who have officially tested positive, although I know others here have it. I just don't bother testing anymore as it was endemic in the town I used to live in, where most of my cats came from. So I am replying as an owner of Ghostie, my first official FIV, and will also do it agin for the other official FIV cats here is possible. X
