New member - Pippin and Tilly

Post by fjm »

Hello - I have two cats, both now 14 and a half, adopted from different rescue centres as kittens. Pippin is a ginger boy, getting rather arthritic and recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism; Tilly (AKA Mistress of the Known Universe) is a small pale ginger girl, a perennial kitten and a mighty huntress! I joined the forum seeking information on managing cats after radio-iodine treatment, and have already found lots of useful information.

Now to try and work out how to add photos...!

Hello and welcome to CC. My cat Willow is 14, but it is hard to believe it sometimes. She seems to have entered her second kittenhood! I look forward to seeing pictures of your kitties.

Thanks - got it! Here are Pippin, before he lost so much weight, sleeping with his usual dedication, and Tilly, fitted neatly into a shopping basket.

Hi and welcome. Sorry to hear about Pippin's trouble. I too own a mighty huntress called Tilly and mistress of all she surveys, a 1 yard long Maine Coon so she is hardly small! Tilly had to spend 3 months in a large crate 4.5 years ago whilst her leg healed. She put up with it, so hopefully Pippin will survive the initial isolation.

Hi there - we've been chatting over on 'health and behaviour' but wanted to say, gorgeous photos and of Kay's Tiffany too - I do love ginger cats. I seem to collect them - or do they collect me? Emily's my avatar cat; she came from a feral colony and brought me 5 kittens - all ginger! The CP found homes for them. Mousey's a black and white tux from the same colony but a year after Emily and she moved in her probable father, Finn (now sadly departed) came along, a big feral tom ... ginger. Then nearly 6 years ago Molly arrived in need of a home ... ginger too. When Emily, Finn and Molly were out in the back garden neighbours used to think they were seeing treble!

Purrs from my gang to Pippin and Tilly and good luck to Pippin re treatment in the new year - all the very best, Lil :)
