urgent emergency accomodation for my cat

Hello I am urgently looking for someone to look after my cat for about 5 weeks. We have been left without a home and won't be in accommodation that will allow animals for a few weeks. My dog is with friends and my cat is with another friend but will not be able to stay longer than the weekend!! Trying so hard to find a safe place for him to be looked after until we move in to new property in a few weeks time. I was recommended this forum to try and find a place. Please if someone can help I would be so grateful. I will supply all food and litter. I don't want to have to take him to a shelter and lose him
Please contact if you can help.
Tracey

Really sorry to hear this. :(

Be really careful who you let look after your cat.

I think Cat Cuddles in Greenwich do boarding:

I would trust people in this forum, I was talking in general.

I would have suggested Catcuddles in Greenwich as well, they do take on short term fosters at a reduced rate to support the rescue pens.

Hi I called cat cuddles and they said they couldn't take him in temporarily only on a rehoming basis. That's what every place is saying...it is so sad that I can't find a place for him just for a few weeks! I must have made over 30 phone calls today....

I'm sorry that Cat Cuddles weren't able to help.

Please also post in this section of this forum:
http://www.petforums.co.uk/forums/cat-r ... option.64/

Be sure to say where you are, how urgent it is and that you've rung 30+ rescues so far.

I hope someone can help you.

Just looked at similar threads in the forum link I posted and not sure it's worth posting there.

I've just spoken with Carol at Cat Cuddles. Please send them an email via this page:
http://www.catcuddles.org.uk/contact-us

In the drop down menu, select 'I want to have my cat rehomed' (even though that's not the case) so that it goes to the right team, explain your situation, say that you will pay for cat food and litter, and ask if they can help. Carol said she will have a look at it this evening. Like most rescues, they are full but Carol said she would see what she can do.

Have you tried catteries as well? Your cat would need to be up to date on his vaccinations.

I'm really sorry they didn't get back to you. I've just emailed them again but . . .

Can anyone in London help Tracey for 5 weeks?

Hi Tracey,

I expect you have already thought of this, but you should be able to get them into a boarding cattery this time of year. They'd be booked up over Christmas but would have thought there would be places free at the moment.

Or would a trusted friend or family member take him in for you? They would have to make sure to keep him indoors, but even so do make sure he is microchipped first.

You could also ring the Cats Protection helpline for advice: 03000 12 12 12

Check through the Cat Chat shelter listings for rescue groups in your area, there may be some you haven't asked yet: http://www.catchat.org/adoption (most are very full though, but if it's urgent ask anyway)

The Blue Cross operate a Pet Fostering scheme in some parts of the country. Usually this is for cats who are up for adoption, but it would be worth contacting them anyway to see if they could help, or they may be able to give further suggestions: http://www.bluecross.org.uk

There is an organisation called People & Pets Advocates (PAPAS) who can sometimes arrange short term foster care, although it may depend if they have someone in your area. It would be worth contacting them anyway: http://www.papas.org.uk

If you have no luck with any of the suggestions so far, and if you are still looking for a private foster arrangement, it might be worth posting here how far outside of London you would consider taking him?

Good luck!
