Feline Welfare

Feline Welfare are based in Newport. They provide rescue and rehoming for cats and kittens who have been abandoned, neglected or injured. Cats or kittens over 4 months old are neutered, microchipped and vaccinated before rehoming. Those too young will be neutered and microchipped when old enough. Feline Welfare also actively tries to control the feral population on the island through a Trap, Neuter and Return scheme.

Nine Lives Cat Rescue

Based in Wroxhall, nr Ventnor. A small, self-funded rehoming centre at Wroxall. All cats are neutered, blood tested for FIV and Felv, vaccinated and given a health check by their vet prior to homing. A home visit is carried out to all potential homes, and a follow up visit at a later date. Cats are only rehomed where there is catflap access into the house. Viewing is by appointment only.

Pound Kitten Rescue

Based in Poole in Dorset, covering Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands. Rescuing abandoned cats and kittens, and caring for them in volunteer foster homes until they can be rehomed. Pound Puppy Rescue can also be contacted as below - these are '8th day' dogs rescued in the nick of time before being put to sleep. So if you are seeking a canine companion, please give them a call, you will be saving another 8th day dog by doing so.

Cinnamon Trust - Homes Needed UK Wide
Cat Fosterers and permanent homes always needed. The Cinnamon Trust (the National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets, Reg. charity. 293399) are looking for more volunteer homes throughout the UK. Pet free homes are needed for short-term fostering of cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care. Permanent homes needed for cats whose owners have died or who are no longer able to care for them. The Cinnamon Trust is not a rescue shelter and cannot take unwanted cats in.
