HART receives no statutory funding and is run entirely on donations.

Who is HART Wildlife Rescue?

HART Wildlife Rescue is a UK registered charity (#1066760) operating a wildlife hospital in Alton, North East Hampshire, providing a rescue, treatment and rehabilitation service for wildlife from all over Hampshire and surrounding counties. HART also gives professional advice to vets, the RSPCA and members of the public from all over the country, as well as providing talks and work experience opportunities for students.

Please DO NOT bring any animals to the hospital without calling first as we may need to prepare for the animal or can advise you of an alternative option if that would be better for the animal, such as a nearer centre. Sometimes animals which appear to need help are in fact fine, and we can give advice in these circumstances to avoid taking an animal from the wild if it is not necessary. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a collection service.

This line is manned from 9am – 5pm (September – April) and 8am – 8pm (May – August), 7 days a week. In the case of an emergency outside of these hours please send a text message to the number given in the answerphone message and we will try to get back to you as soon as possible. Regretfully, we do not have an out of hours rescue team but can try to give advice from the number provided on the answerphone message.
