Animal Action

Animals At Risk Shelter

Covering Luton, Harpenden, Hemel Hempstead, Hitchin, Stevenage, Berkhamsted and Tring. Animals at Risk is a no-kill rescue shelter for cats, offering re-homing, spaying/neutering, help and advice, and cat sponsorship. Any animals that are unable to be rehomed will be cared for long term the shelter. Animals At Risk Shelter is open to visitors every weekend, where you can meet the cats in their care, and hopefully find the perfect pet for you.

Blue Cross - Hertfordshire Rehoming Centre

Rehoming cats, dogs, rabbits and ponies across Herts, Bucks and Beds.  As part of one of the oldest animal welfare charities, the centre is backed by years of experience in rehoming animals successfully. Their dedicated animal behaviour team assess the individual personalities of animals and address any behavioural problems before rehoming. Potential owners are 'screened' to ensure that they are matched to just the right pet for them. Cats and dogs are vet checked, wormed, de-flead, microchipped and neutered before rehoming.

Cat & Kitten Rescue

Covering Herts, Beds, Bucks, North London and N.W. London. Taking in and caring for unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens and finding them kind and loving responsible homes. A rescue and rehoming service is also provided for cats and kittens, plus a trapping and neutering service for feral cats. They will also take in feral kittens under the age of 11 weeks, when it is possible to socialise and domesticate them. Also, they will help trap and spay/neuter individual feral cats and return them to their home environment, helping to reduce the future stray population. Cat Welfare (Luton)

Based in Luton, helping cats across Beds and Herts. Cat Welfare Luton is a small home based rescue that prioritises ferals, strays, poorly and injured cats. They socialise feral kittens for rehoming and TNR/relocate adult cats. The majority of their cats and kittens have had a difficult life and need forever homes with new owners that are understanding of their past. All cats and kittens are neutered, chipped and vaccinated, unless under 4 months old then new owners are asked to adhere to a strict neutering policy and get them neutered by 4/5 months old. Kittens are only rehomed in pairs.
Help! Cat Food or Litter Needed: Adoption fees rarely cover costs, so donations of cat food or litter, it will help secure a place for a new cat or kitten in need.

Fosterers and Rural Homes Needed: New foster homes are always needed, please get in touch if you would like to foster, or can offer an outdoor home in yards, stables or large gardens with shelter, all feral cats are neutered, chipped, flead and wormed and will provide excellent vermin control in exchange for food and a warm bed.

Covering Beds, Bucks, Northants and Herts. Since 1972 HULA ('Home for Unwanted and Lost Animals'), have provided a refuge for abandoned or unwanted animals until they can be re-homed. Cat Fosterers and permanent homes always needed. The Cinnamon Trust (the National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets, Reg. charity. 293399) are looking for more volunteer homes throughout the UK. Pet free homes are needed for short-term fostering of cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care. Permanent homes needed for cats whose owners have died or who are no longer able to care for them. The Cinnamon Trust is not a rescue shelter and cannot take unwanted cats in.
