Overlooked Cats: Durham

Hello! I'm Ephraim and I've got a smart, short haired, black and white coat and I'm 1 year old. I've been neutered, microchipped and I could have been vaccinated too although if not, then the rescue will pay for me to be vaccinated as long as it's done at one of their vets. The people here say that i'm a bit of a live wire and I'll get up to lots of mischief in my life, don't know what they mean teehee! I might be a bit hyper around another cat, although, depending on the cat, I might be okay living with them. I am however, not sure about living with children or dogs. I'm a cheeky boy who loves to be picked up although, I will get a bit wriggly after a while and want to be off with a rush of energy. I'm looking for an indoor home and perhaps somewhere with a porch door before the main door because I am quite likely to rush to get through doors before you can close them and dart out at great speed! Hello, my name is Teddy. I was found straying, and had been for a number of years; maybe I had a home once, but it was a whole lifetime ago. I had joined up with a feral colony and was being fed by kindly neighbours. I had a disagreement with a car and came away needing crate rest, so came into care. I am now neutered, chipped and vaccinated; I was also found to have some dental issues, including tooth reabsorption, so will need ongoing vet care and possibly further dental treatment. I have decided that I would like a nice indoor home, with people who will be around a lot of the time, to keep me company; I really enjoy cuddling up on a lap and get sad if left for too long. Hello everyone, we are Caterella (left) and Violet. Violet is a beautiful tabby lass and I am tabby & white. We are on the hunt for a nice quiet home with a patient guardian to care for us. Violet was living with a feral colony but was not too feral, so came in with the hope of settling into the right home and blossoming. I arrived from another colony; we were popped in together when our babies had all found their homes, and we have become very good pals. We are looking for just the right people to show us that a settled home life is a good thing. We are now neutered and would like a home with only one or two people and no children. I've been waiting over a year... Please pick me! How do you do? My name is Pudding, I am a shy and gentle lad looking for someone to love me. I am almost 2 years old and have already spent over a year of my life in rescue; I am scared of unexpected noises and like my routine, so probably don't push forward as much as other cats. Once I know and trust people I really quite like a chin tickle and a stroke. I do tend to hiss when I am frightened, it is not aggressive, not sure I could be that way even if I tried, a hiss is all I have when worried. I am very much a modern lad, I enjoy spending my down time watching cat videos on TV and will have a funny 5 minutes chasing a laser pointer. I love other cats and would love to share with others, rather than be an only cat; but would prefer no young children or dogs. Hello! I'm Christopher. I'm a handsome, 2 year old, black and white lad. I arrived at the rescue as a stray and although I was friendly, I could be prone to the odd swipe. I was neutered and microchipped and that calmed me down a lot. I can still swipe occasionally though so, I think I'd be best in a home with no children. I'm not sure about living with a dog but as I can be a bit pushy with other cats, I'd be best as an only cat. I have loads of energy and am very playful so I'd be looking for a garden to get out into to use up my energy. Hello, I am Dexie and I am a young, neutered, tabby girl of about 2 years old. Now I am looking for a very special human who understands timid cats and would be willing to show me some care and patience. I came to the rescue as part of a bunch of unwanted kittens. My brothers and sisters were the friendliest of cats and were adopted but I was scared and timid and have been in rescue for almost my whole life. The rescue people are used to seeing just my bum as I hide! I think I would like to make friends with someone but I'm just so scared. If one of the rescuers manages to catch me and put me in a kennel and spend time stroking and talking to me, I do get used to it, but when released back into a room I go back to hiding. I would like a patient human who will work with me and will understand that I may not ever be a lap cat. I might be ok with another cat if they are friendly - they might even give me confidence. I had to have some dental work done and I actually have no teeth now, but I recovered well and just like softer food. I know I might be a hard 'sell' to most but hopefully there is a gentle angel in human form that might be able to help.

Hello, my name is Peggy. I'm a little, semi long haired, tabby girl who's 16 months old. I've been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and have also been regularly treated for fleas and worms. I'm a bit of a nervous girl but I do enjoy strokes and if you get to the point of giving me belly rubs, well then I really love you! I've been waiting over a year... Please pick me! Hello, my name's Deborah. I'm a pretty little female cat with a sleek black coat and the greenest of eyes. I've not had the best start to life, I was born into a feral life and am really timid. I'm 2 years old though and given time and patience, I will make someone a wonderful friend. I am already able to be stroked by the staff here if they're patient with me. I can sometimes lash out because I'm scared, so a home with no children or older children would be best. I don't like dogs but I might be okay with a gentle male cat in the family.
