Re: Lexi is lost. Hoole, Chester
Some very good, heartwarming news from here.
Lexi was missing for 3 weeks and has just been found about 4 miles away in a village outside Chester. She's back home and purring madly now.
Thank you internet, and all the various cat websites!

Lexi is lost. Hoole, Chester (Found)
Our lovely, elegant, friendly, 5 year old ginger and white cat Lexi disappeared yesterday morning about 11am (Sept 5th) from Shavington Avenue in Chester. Please could all in the Hoole/Newton area of Chester check their sheds, garages etc. and keep an eye out for her. She is microchipped and has a b...

Re: Heartbroken lost my first cat to traffic
Hi Matt, Very, very sorry to read your post. Not a lot I can say to make it better, but there are a lot of us out here who know what you are going through. We had a similar loss just over a year ago with our lovely young cat and I know how much it hurts. It helps me to know that right up until 0.000...

I forgot to mention that we succeeded in getting a 20mph speed limit in our area, so at least something positive has come out of it.

Re: Issues surrounding losing a cat.
Well, it's just over a year since Lucy was killed. Whilst the raw pain of the early days has subsided we still think about her a lot and are left with a residual sadness. She really was such a lovely cat and as you can tell she has left an enormous pawprint on our hearts. Meanwhile her Mum Lexi is d...

I may be stating the obvious but have you tried Facebook? When one of ours went awol we found a local Facebook page that was very helpful. In the end our little wanderer returned after 3 days, looking very thin. Good luck with your searching and I hope you get good news.

One of the things Facebook is good for is situations like this. Have a look to see if you have a local Facebook page dedicated to lost pets.

When one of our cats went missing we found Facebook enormously useful. There was a page for local missing moggies. Worth looking if such a thing exists for your area.
Best of luck with the search. I know how horrible it is.

Most of the smells in our house come from the humans!!!! I wish our boys would wash as much as the cats!
No smells at all from our lovely furry friends.

Hi,
Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and all the best for 2016, especially those who have lost a loved furry friend in the past year. Great photo of cat in cardboard box! Ours does the same all the time and loves to slowly chew the edges and generally demolish the box. Hilarious to watch!

When one of ours went missing, one of the most useful websites was a Facebook page for our local area which specialised in lost and found cats. I'm too old for all this Facebook stuff, but I have to admit it was very good. Have a look and see if a facebook page with a name like " TownName lost ...

Re: Does it get any easier?
Hi. Many of us here have suffered the loss of our beloved little friends. Grieving is a strange process (at least in my case). I think I'm doing ok and then it hits me like a wave and I get upset again. Most days I have a wobbly moment - 2.5 months after it happened. I guess we all react a bit diffe...

I assume your friend has never had a cat and doesnt understand the deep bonds between cats and their human slaves. Not excusing his behaviour but maybe they have some problem or stress going on in their lives that render them less than sympathetic? Anyway, very sorry to hear of the loss of Mayday - ...

Hi,
I guess you've tried all the usual things - asking neighbours to check garages/sheds? Posters on walls, posters in local vets? Phoning local rescues where he may have been taken?
Good luck. Let's hope he returns in due course....

We see everyday where Kara was killed .. right outside our house . As mentioned previously after 2 months without dear Kara ... we now let the cats out at 1st cat alarm call (!) normally around 4 am ish ! Sounds very similar to us. Lucy was run over in our cul-de-sac - not quite outside our gate bu...

Re: Issues surrounding losing a cat.
I just wanted to say that when we lost Bobby's adoptive mum, Lily, Bob would sit in the window for hours looking for her and calling. But then he and I became very close and now he comes to me for his cuddles. He has become a real Mummy's Boy. :D Hi, How long do you think it took for Bobby to recov...

Re: Issues surrounding losing a cat.
After Lucy was killed I worried myself sick that the same would happen to our other cat in due course. So we've altered her going out times to periods of minimal traffic activity in our road. It means getting up at 4am though! We don't let her out in the day any more, at least not until I can make t...

Re: Issues surrounding losing a cat.
Hi, When both Lexi and Lucy were around, they used to march around their territory usually not very far from each other. In addition, the area they dominated was pretty large. Now she's on her own, Lexi doesnt go far at all, in fact very rarely out of our garden. Maybe it's due to the time of year, ...

Issues surrounding losing a cat.
I wanted to start a thread where we can discuss a bit the issues that arise when one of our cats dies. For example, our Lucy was closely bonded to her mother Lexi, whose behaviour is now very different than before. Has anyone else got experience of this? I also have to walk past the spot where I had...

His markings are so similar to our cat Lexi. Is there a way on this forum that all of those of us who are going through this dreadful situation can talk to each other? I feel that the support of others who are in the same situation could help all of us... I dont mind admitting that I am personally s...
