Re: Cat Has Fleas
After adopting our kitty a couple of weeks ago, we're undecided about what to use going forward for flea treatment ourselves. We have 1 pipette of Stronghold that the rescue centre gave us, which is going on her in a week or so, but we need to be making a decision on what to buy for the next doses....

Re: Cat Has Fleas
If I have to send my cats to a cattery, just after they have gone away is a good time to spray the carpets, because the stuff will have a week or thereabouts to dry and settle before the cats come back. Mine are not at high risk of fleas; indoor, with access to a garden enclosure which other cats c...

The dreaded fleas... My Miley who sadly grew her wings june 16, brought fleas home from a visit to a cattery.... omg it was awful my boys were quite young and were covered in bites.... it cost me a forture on different treatment as went for the cheapest options first!!!! Big mistake..... ended up go...

Re: Kamikaze Kitten + Lazy Co-Owner
Unfortunately the kitten stage does go on, my girl is 14 months and is a complete nutter, she jumps our legs at every opportunity she gets, i have spent lots on things trying to calm her, and if i could afford another kitten i would. She loves to wreck our wall paper and carpets... I wait in anticip...

Re: Puddle growing up
so after many attempt to get her to keep all 4 paws on the scales she is 3.4kg...... I put the cat box on the scales, zero the scales and then stuff the cat in the box... Depends on what kind of scales you have; mine is a dual-purpose parcel or baby scale which I can put the box on. Ria (Norwegian ...

Re: Puddle growing up
3.4kg is light for a Maine Coon. Tilly is not a big Maine Coon, but at Puddle's age, she weighed 4.7kg. She is 6.1kg now and is certainly not thought overweight. Maine Coon's go on growing for years, so I expect Puddle will fill out a bit more over the next 4 years or so. Miley was mixed mainecoon,...

Re: Puddle growing up
Yes i suppose as long as she looks healthy, she isnt a greedy eater.... she is due jabs in Oct ( she was late getting her jabs as breeder didnt give them so she wa nearly 4 months when she had her first jabs) so I'm sure vet will re weight her.... only concern is because she doesnt go outcshe doesnt...

Re: Puddle growing up
So I needed to go vets for her worming treatment and vet needed to know how much she weighed... so after many attempt to get her to keep all 4 paws on the scales she is 3.4kg...... Is that heavy? Miley at her age was only 2.4kg, Puddle is 14months old, is this the mainecoon breed in her, or is she o...

Whew, four MCx litters - bet the girl's glad to have her stomach back to herself now bless her, though she'll have enjoyed herself, they usually do, especially when they dump the kittens on the humans as one of my Siamese used to - 'there, you took me to stud, now you see what it's like!' 5 little ...

:o :o :o Puddle is ... Maine Coon ... AND ... Siamese??? Oh boy have you got a handful there! Great fun though :D Was it an accidental mating? Siamese tend to be on the dainty side and the MC cross kittens would have been hefty lumps; would have been better to mate a MC female to a Siamese boy if t...

kitten food is very rich, I believe, so that might be the problem - at 8 months she could move on to adult food which might be all it takes to sort her out

Re: meet Puddle
So far, no climbing curtain, and her scratching post is over 4ft tall and plenty of posts to scratch, but like all cats prefers to use the settee, but Miley left her mark on our sofa so its no big deal, i do try and to discourage her from scratching the sofa...... but it often fails
