Willow is the one for wardrobes and due to her cross-patch nature, she is known as 'the witch IN the wardrobe'.
Purdy likes the airing cupboard. She likes to roll all over mummy's clean washing!
Pleased to hear that Tay and Tilly are both doing well.

Re: For George
Susan, that is a beautiful tribute to you boy (she said through tear-filled eyes!). RIP sweet George. As Vivian says you could get a nice plant to mark his grave. I have a 'Bonica' rose on Bonnie's (dog) grave, a 'Rosa Mundi' on Rosie dog's grave and a 'Thomas' heuchera on my Tommy cat's grave. They...

RIP Tabby. It is sad to lose them at any time. But it sounds like you gave him a happy, peaceful end and that's something to hang on to.

Re: First time cat(s?) owner. Should we get one or two kittens?
Fifteen years ago I found a kitten - around one week old. Never had a cat before, no experience of raising such a tiny animal - really thrown in the deep end! With help from cat owning friends we raised Willow and now have six cats! The latest are brother kittens. They are a delight. Taking on two y...

Re: Coco and Chanel dilemma
I too think that Ruth's idea is the way to go. Splitting them up, to my mind, would be a step backwards and as they are very pretty cats, putting them up for 'general' rehoming would not be in their best interests. For what it's worth I think you have made the right decision. As for temperament, I c...

Re: Abandoned tomcats - RSPCA not doing anything!
I think most folks on here know my feelings about the RSPCA. :x :x Cats chose where they want to be. One turned up at my sister's door. She took 'her' to the vet to get her checked out and found 'he' was an overweight male who had been chipped. On contacting the owner she was told he had been given ...

Re: Bella is missing.
My sister's cat was missing for a week. She searched the neighbourhood, put up posters, the lot! He came strolling back just after the neighbours got back from their holiday. He had been shut in their garage for a week. Nothing to eat and only condensation to drink, but he was fine. It is so easy to...

Re: Cat has fleas, but not the kind that bothers humans
For some reason some humans are far more attractive to them than other. I'm lucky for some reason biting insects don't go for me. I've been places with friends who were getting eaten alive by midges and I was unlucky if I had a couple of bites afterwards. Oooh and don't I know it! :x Most of my fam...

Re: Cat safety - fencing
Good grief, there are some horrible people out there! :x I am pleased to hear though, that despite his ordeal, your cat has recovered. I think Lilith has a good idea, if you have the sort of garden that can be fenced. Another idea might be to build a run attached to the house with access via a windo...

Re: Is it time?
I am so sorry to hear about your cat. You have the hardest decision to make. I once went through something similar with a dog of 17. She was physically in good health for a dog of such advanced years. But she was often very confused. She would ask to go outside, stand there looking lost, then come i...

Re: Vibes for Freddie
Well he's had something to eat and a big drink, gone for a little wander around the garden with Billy, bought back a cobweb and several birch catkins in his tail and now he has chosen to sleep in the cat carrier! He is still not back up to speed, but improving. Fingers crossed, he is over the worst ...

Re: Vibes for Freddie
Just back from the emergency vets in Ballyshannon. His temperature is 'on the high side of normal' and we had noticed a little discharge from his nose and slightly gooey eyes. All very slight - but just not our Freddie. Lovely vet gave him a shot of AB's and anti - inflammatory and I have some Betam...

I have just got back. He is in the same spot outside that he was when I went. OH has tried him with food and drink, but he took neither. That's not like our Fred. :( :? I am going to look up where the emergency vet is today, just in case. I am starting to get really worried now. He doesn't seem 'ill...

Vibes for Freddie
Hi guys, just a quick ask. I have to go out for a while but I'm a little worried about Freddie. He is unusually quiet this morning. No injuries, no raised or lowered temperature, just quiet and more importantly for Fred, not eating! OH will keep an eye on him, but I would appreciate you good vibes h...

Ooh Ruth, you touched a nerve there! Speaking as a gardener, kitty poo is the last thing you would want as a fertilizer! Re: a tip for the desperate
another little tip while I'm on a roll - I bought some small individual icecreams in plastic pots in Lidl's the other day, and find they are great at popping over uneaten food in the cats' dishes to keep it moist and the flies away I was looking for one of those plastic covers for tins. Couldn't ge...

I have seen that quite often and not always in bad weather. We tend to see them out at the coast - perhaps because there is more sky out there (no trees or buildings to block the view) We get them a lot in winter. I think they are ice crystals. Totally unrelated - I have just looked out of t...

Re: Afraid :(
Far better to visit a vet unnecessarily than not to visit one when needed. The worst still has to be when I took a cat in because 'he smelt wrong', he did need some dental work doing, but that wasn't what I had picked up, the blood test showed he was in the early stages of kidney problems. I agree ...

Re: What's wrong with my cat's paw?
Hi there! Not been around for a few days, so just caught up on this. First of all, yes he is a lovely boy! Not all white cats are deaf, though there would be a a higher chance if both his eyes were blue. Now, that paw. My Bob had something similar earlier this year. He is a tripod, so any problems w...
