Please suggest me how to take care of cats

I'm thinking of getting a cat, because next week I'm moving to a new house, and can have a pet freely. And I really like cats, I want to keep cats, but I have no experience in taking care of cats, and I don't know where to buy them? Can you suggest to me some information so I can take better care of them?

Where do you live, jorgereale? And are you thinking of a pedigree cat of a specific breed, or the more usual domestic shorthair cat? Will your cat be allowed outside, or live entirely indoors? Do you think you could cope with a young kitten (or two - they are often happier homed with a sibling), or an older cat?
Most countries have many kittens in rescues needing good homes, especially in Spring and Summer, and very beautiful older cats too. If you tell us more about where you live, your reasons for wanting a cat, and the sort of companion you are looking for I am sure you will get lots of good advice.
