Ashbourne Animal Welfare

Based in Ashbourne. The Society is a registered charity, and has helped thousands of animals in need since it's formation in 1990. They care for and re-home unwanted and stray dogs and cats, ensuring they are neutered prior to rehoming. They are also actively reducing the future number of stray cats by neutering feral cat colonies. Their shelter, 'The Ark' can accommodate up to 40 dogs and 30 cats, and includes specialist isolation and recovery areas, as well as a feline maternity wing. Loving, permanent homes are always needed for the many animals in their care, and of course volunteers or donations are always extremely welcome.

Bramcote Animal Rescue

Covering Nottingham, Derbyshire & Lincolnshire since 1984. Rescuing and rehoming animals. On average they care for around 15 dogs, 20 cats, 100 rabbits and 40 guinea pigs. Chesterfield Animal Rescue

Based in Chesterfield, rehoming across the united Kingdom. Chesterfield Animal Rescue rehome cats in Chesterfield, and across the country. Dove Cat Rescue Sanctuary

Dove Holes, near Buxton. A caring voluntary group which offers sanctuary to cats of any age. The sanctuary currently cares for around 70 cats and kittens, and also has a large number of cats waiting to come in. If you can offer a home to a cat, please get in touch. An appointment must be made to view the cats and to arrange for a pre-adoption interview. When adopting a cat, a contribution is expected which helps towards the upkeep of the sanctuary, and the cost of neutering and vaccinations. Kittens are required to be neutered when of age, and adult cats are neutered prior to adoption.
Foster homed needed: Particularly in kitten season, temporary foster homes are needed for mums and kittens. If you could help, please get in touch.

RSPCA - Tameside & Glossop

Covering Greater Manchester and Derbyshire. Tameside and Glossop is an independent branch of the RSPCA, prioritising cats and kittens brought in by RSPCA Inspectors which are all neutered, vaccinated and blood tested at the RSPCA's animal hospital in Salford before rehoming. Home visits are carried out to ensure a good match between adopter and the cat / kitten.

Sheffield Cats Shelter

Rehoming cats in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. This busy inner city shelter always has many cats needing good homes. They care for up to 50 cats at any one time, and manage to find homes for around 400 cats every year. Volunteers are often needed to help with the cats and for fundraising, or you can help by becoming a member, and you will receive a regular newsletter - details are on their web site. The shelter has a 'no kill' policy.

Cat Fosterers and permanent homes always needed. The Cinnamon Trust (the National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets, Reg. charity. 293399) are looking for more volunteer homes throughout the UK. Pet free homes are needed for short-term fostering of cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care.
