Based in Prestatyn. The Abandoned Animals Association is the oldest registered animal charity in Denbighshire, founded in 1986. They are dedicated to the rescuing and rehoming of unwanted pets, mainly cats and dogs. They have a non-destruction policy, meaning that no healthy animal is ever put to sleep.

Cats Protection - Colwyn & District

Covering LL17-19, LL24-34, LL15/16/21. Rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of unwanted and abused cats and kittens.  Animals are cared for in foster homes, these spaces are limited and the branch operate a waiting list. The branch can help with ferals, these cats are trapped, neutered and returned to site (occasionally relocated).

Cats Protection - Wrexham Adoption Centre

Covering Wrexham, Chester and as far afield as Flint, Corwen and Llangollen. The branch rescues stray and abandoned cats and kittens, and provides a rehoming service for owners who are no longer able to care for their cat. In addition to finding caring homes for many cats and kittens, Wrexham CP also run a sponsorship scheme for their long-term cats.

Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre

Based in Caernarfon. Affiliated to the Freshfields centre in Merseyside, this centre often has around 50 cats waiting for a new home. They are also a sanctuary for unwanted horses and ponies. All cats are neutered prior to rehoming.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue

Based in Holywell, covering parts of Cheshire and North Wales. North Clwyd Animal Rescue cares for in excess of 1000 animals each year and this number is ever growing. The Centre acts as a rehabilitation unit and a temporary home for mainly dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs.

P.A.D.A.W.G. (Prestatyn & District Animal Welfare Group)

Based in Prestatyn. Rescue & re-homing of unwanted and abandoned animals, mainly cats and dogs, but also other pets when needed. All cats are neutered, vaccinated, flead and wormed prior to homing, and all prospective homes are vetted to ensure mutual suitability for both animal and environment.

Senior Kittizens: As well as permanent homes, their “Caring and Sharing” programme caters for elderly or sick animals which cannot be found permanent homes. These animals are placed in permanent foster homes, but the charity pays for all vets fees and special diets. Vital funds are raised through their two charity shops, and good quality items are always needed (collection can be arranged). Volunteers always needed for the shops.

Pet Rescue Welfare Association

Based in Dyserth, Denbighshire. Providing rescue and rehoming for abandoned, stray and unwanted animals in need of care and protection. Pet Rescue Welfare Association also provides veterinary care, rehabilitation and a safe place for the animals. All cats are fully vaccinated, treated against worms & fleas, neutered and microchipped. A voucher is supplied if too young for surgery.

Shropshire Cat Rescue

Cinnamon Trust - Homes Needed UK Wide
Cat Fosterers and permanent homes always needed. The Cinnamon Trust (the National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets, Reg. charity. 293399) are looking for more volunteer homes throughout the UK. Pet free homes are needed for short-term fostering of cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care. Permanent homes needed for cats whose owners have died or who are no longer able to care for them. The Cinnamon Trust is not a rescue shelter and cannot take unwanted cats in.
