| | | | Kier - Homed
It's hard to believe that this pretty young girl was found heavily pregnant, outdoors in a recycling box. She was thankfully rescued and taken in at Maesteg Animal Welfare Society, Bridgend, where she gave birth to her kittens. All that remained was to find a proper loving home for Kier this time around. Her survival instincts meant that Kier had become quite a chunky girl! She needed a new home, where she would get plenty of playtime and exercise...
Maesteg Animal Welfare Society told us, "Kier had been with us for some time, but thanks to Cat Chat has found a lovely home. Your site really works for us."
Thankfully Kier has now been neutered, so no more unwanted pregnancies! However, her story highlights the suffering that cats can go through, when owners don't care enough to get them neutered. Kier was still a kitten when she fell pregnant, so please don't wait until it's too late. Kittens (male and female) should be neutered at 4 months when they become sexually active, and un-nuetered adult cats should be neutered as soon as possible.

| | | | We're are currently working full-steam-ahead on our new website. Development of the new site is taking longer than we had originally thought, (as these things often do!) but we are determined to get it looking as good, and working as well as we possibly can before launch.
The last time Cat Chat had a re-design was 2016, so it’s definitely time for a refresh! We hope to bring you a further update in the May newsletter.

| | | | Sooty - Homed
Like so many of the cats featured on Cat Chat, Sooty had a dreadful start in life. He was taken in at Feline Network Cat Rescue, Paignton after suffering neglect and physical abuse. Understandably, Sooty, aged between 6 and 8 years, takes his time to trust people. He's a quiet boy who needed a home with no young children, and a safe secure garden. Moreover, he deserved a home where he would be truly loved and respected this time round...
We're delighted to tell you that Sooty has since found the perfect home after being featured on Cat Chat. Thankfully his story has a happy ending!

| | | | | | Home Needed - Lincolnshire 10 year old Smokey is looking for a home with his bestie; 5 year old Freddie. Smokey lost an eye due to a past injury, but it doesn't bother him in any way. Smokey & Freddie have been waiting patiently at the shelter since their owner passed away. These quiet, shy lads would be happy living with other cats, dogs and even children. All they ask is to be able to stay together.

| | | | Don't forget, from 10th June 2024, all pet cats in the UK must be microchipped before they reach 20 weeks of age. Owners who don't comply will have 21 days to cooperate, or may face a fine of up to £500.
The new law will give cats the best chance of being returned to their owners if they become lost, and will help reduce the number of stray and abandoned cats. Don't risk waiting for the deadline... act now!

| | | | Tiger - Homed
There's just time to tell you about pretty tabby Tiger, who recently celebrated her 11th birthday. She was being cared for at Caring Animal Rescue, Stafford, who set out to find her a quiet, loving home. Her rescuers told us, 'Tiger is quite shy in new environments with new people, however once settled she knows how to make herself at home; spending most of the time snoozing or giving cuddles.'
Tiger had the birthday present of her dreams when she found the perfect home after being spotted Cat Chat. Congratulations Tiger!
Although cats regularly live until their late teens and beyond, cats of Tiger's age are often overlooked by adopters, especially at this time of year when there are so many kittens available. If you are thinking of adopting a cat, please consider giving a mature moggy a chance. If you'd like to know more, see our
