Overlooked Cats: Sussex

Hello, I'm Atlas. I’m a very rare, very handsome, bob-tailed Snowshoe tom cat, just two-and-a-half years old. Like the original Atlas of classic Greek fame, I also feel I’ve carried the world on my shoulders. Whatever happened to me in the past has left me nervous and protectively unpredictable when I'm confined to a small room or space. But when I get to know you, I can be very loving and affectionate; I will rub my head under your hand for you to stroke me. I have to be honest and admit that I’m not keen on children, don't like to live with other cats and dogs, and I like to spend lots of time out in the open air. I would love a home where I can be indoors with my human adopters, but would welcome freedom and free reign of the great outdoors. Maybe you might have stables, chicken runs or barns, where I could help keep rodents and other pests under control, but still be part of the family indoors when I’m confident.

Hello, I'm Jasper. I'm neutered and around 7-8 years old. I had a hard life as a stray in Spain, before being rescued by a kind man who looked after me and helped me get to the UK. Thing is, I don't get along with other cats so I couldn't stay with my rescuer. I'm a lovely boy, who prefers men and knows exactly what I want! I have a blast playing with my feather stick toys and I love a lap to sit on. I do have an ongoing health condition which means that I need medication from time to time if I get stressed, I also had to have my teeth taken out but it doesn’t stop me from eating my biscuits - I'm a big foodie! I'm looking for a quiet, peaceful home, with someone experienced who is around most of the time to give me company and a lap to sit on. I would like to be the only pet, in a home without children. I'd love a home where I can safely go outside, preferably in a rural area where there aren't many other cats around.

Hello, I'm Mimi and I'm here with my little son Marmite to find a home to call our own. I'm a slightly older than one year old, neutered, sleek, black and short haired girl, whilst 7 month old Marmite, is a deep, dark, chocolatey brown and also short haired and neutered. I was found with Marmite's other two siblings, in a fox hole for a home. My two other kittens have gone off to wonderful new homes and now it's our turn for a happy ending. As I'm still getting used to being around humans and being stroked, we'd prefer not to live with children or other pets please. I am sure that finding our forever home and a patient family will help me to continue to flourish and grow in confidence. Marmite is a funny, gentle little boy who is happy to be held and stroked. Marmite and me adore each other and I chat away to him all day long and he follows me everywhere, we think you'll be quite taken by the pair of us as we think we're an adorable pair! Good day to you; are you in the market for a handsome gent? If so, I think I might be just the cat you are looking for. My name is Davy and I am a mature gent at around 20 years old. I arrived from a feral colony and have decided that a more settled life is now for me. I am a big, loveable chonk, with a few less teeth than I once had. Hi, I'm Holly. I was rescued from colony of over 20 feral cats. I'm a tiny, beautiful 6 year old girl, looking for a child-free and dog-free home with outdoor access. I'm neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. I'm currently very nervous and shy, as I'm used to living feral with other cats, but I'm starting to get used to cat cuddler volunteers. I'm warming to the attention and I'm now glad of a stroke and happy to take a treat. With the recent addition of another colony cat, Davy, who I share a pen with, I'm coming out of my shell more and more.
